We’ve moved on board! Well, we’re on board. Our stuff is on board. Moved in? Not so much. This place is a disaster. Has been for the last two days. A bomb went off. I’m writing this wedged amongst boxes and stuff in the cockpit. Wedged! After ten years of planning, saving, dreaming, we’re finally onboard. To be honest, it’s not quite how I’d imaged it. In my head, the ‘Sailing Dream’ had been a vision of standing on the bow heading out into the big blue. Watching dolphins play on our bow. I’d skipped over that tiny detail of being moored in an absolutely sweltering, humid marina. Dripping with sweat all day long Working on fixing, moving & just general hauling ass all day, and night long.
But to hell with it. We’re on a boat. Our fucking boat. A boat that’s paid for. I cannot wait to set sail. I cannot wait to head out into the gulf stream. (Fill up the freezer with fish). Stand on that bow & watch dolphins play. Be at anchor. Alone in a bay. Swim naked. Shower naked. Go spear fishing (clothed). I cannot wait.
