We have been deeply immersed in learning about weather forecasting after attending a course in Offshore Weather. Two full days of intense learning about weather maps, heavy weather (storm) sailing techniques and various other worst case scenarios. At the end, we had finally realized how little we do know. But we did learn what Isobars, Wind feathers, Occluded fronts, Upper Air Iso heights & Squash Zones all mean and, more importantly, how to use them. The good news is that most heavy weather can be avoided as it is predicted up to 4 days out. Hurricanes much further in advance.
