It’s a done deal. I have my passport back with a pretty US Visa plastered inside. We’ve decided on where we’re going. We’re pointing our bow north! Virginia to be exact. Setting up for a departure on Wednesday and continuing a non-stop, offshore passage for five to seven days. True blue water cruising. We haven’t taken this lightly as it’s our first big passage and we’ll be outside of any rescue services. As such, we’ve hired a weather routing expert to help us. Someone we can call via Sat phone to help us make critical weather routing decisions. Or perhaps, to simply tell us we’re in for a shit kicking. As it stands nothing “major” is coming our way. No big storms. Just squalls north of the Bahamas. Hopefully we won’t come across any that are too big. Fingers crossed.
We both really look forward to this passage. Nothing but open ocean. Time to think. Time to dream. Time to fish.
We’re headed home!
